6-16-07 PhotoHunt : Hair

My daughter's hair is naturally soft and somewhere between wavy and kinky. So combing her hair (especially after I washed it) was a harrowing experience. She was already dealing with some other issues (rampant eczema and allergies), so I finally decided that she deserved some relief wherever I could provide it.

My hairdresser doesn't like to put chemicals in kids' hair when they are very young, but I threatened to do it myself at home, so she finally caved. She gave Alexis a texturizer, which is like a relaxer, but you don't let it straighten the hair too much so it retains some of it's natural wave.

As a scrapbooker, I naturally took along my camera to document the event. :)

5-18-07 Photo Hunt: Cooked/ing

Here's a sausage and chicken stew I made a few weeks ago. It was soooo good; perfect for a wet, chilly day. Makes me want some right now. I ate mine with a little hot sauces and sometimes a little rice. Nummy.

This is a really BAD photo of me from 2003 at the Great American Scrapbook Convention. I'm pictured with a really nice, talented lady named Katherine Brooks who is the author of several scrapbooking and card making books, and we're holding a couple of cards I had just made in a workshop she taught. Paper crafting is one of my favorite hobbies.
